What Our Users Say
Don't just take our word for it. Here's what our users have to say about our Android app.
"Fails to work with videos now."
Ian Robertson
"It is uploading photos and video files from my phone but it is mostly impossible to view them even on a 500gb download speed, the photos sometimes and takes forever while can't recall if I ever could watch any of my recorded videos, tried tons of times. The thumbnails are also never loaded, seems odd to buy the hardware when the software isn't good enough. No problems on the PC though. Will update the review when the issues are fixed. Waiting for the released app."

"Latest version 4.14.1 is still half broken. Photobackup doesn't clear the uploaded files anymore and always have to manually tally. Cleared app cache and data and setup from scratch, still doesn't clear backed up pics or videos -- Works now thanks"
Ashish Thukral
"Doesn't work"
Andrius Vainorius
"dismal fail.... used Synology cloud for years to sync android to my nas. That died when dsm7 came out (now 7.0.1.42218) for 200 days i have not been able to sync my nas tried this new app - and it hangs on the logging in step..... sigh"

"Update 4/11/2022: Figured it out, deleting just-taken photos in Google Photos while DSFile is attempting to upload them causes DSFile to freak out and then indefinitely and repeatedly attempt to upload them burning battery! The only workaround is to disable backup and re-enable it. -- Search feature is unusable, slow and interrupts scrolling or filtering as search results trickle in, did anyone test search? Desperately needs PDF thumbnails for those who scan large sets of documents."
Ryan Roberts
"Can't back up photos cause it can't stay connected I have checked every internet device in my house it's something to do with the app just keeps reconnecting!"
Jack w
"Backs up duplicate files all the time. I have a folder full of duplicate what a mess."
Robert
"Great app, SUPER helpful! One request though, please add a dark mode! Every app in 2022 needs to have one of those!"
Aaron
"The NAS is great. This app sucks. Constant login issues, when it does let me connect, no files, or sometimes SOME files are visible. Have a similar issue with Drive now too. BUT...I can log in to DSM via Chrome on the same phone and access everything just fine....so the issue is just the app...not the NAS."
